Bartie's Boutique

Hello! Almost forgot to post these photos of our stall at Bartie's Boutique last Saturday. I was representing hello DODO as Jam was off galavanting around Tenerife! I was sharing the stall with our lovely friend Anna and her Drawing Room, check out her pics from the fair! It was an absolute luxury to have a day of sitting down, drinking rocket fuel coffee and getting to have a good natter. Plus we met some really lovely people :o)
It was our first ever craft fair with DODO and we're hoping to do a whole load more next year, though probably in Brighton as opposed to Worthing. If anyone knows of any good ones we should get involved with let us know!

Just a quick post whilst watching a very tense episode of Masterchef! God I hate those food critics!!
It's all a bit manic here at hello DODO HQ, our BOGOF sale continues (although not for much longer!) and we've been preparing for our first ever craft fair, Bartie's Boutique in Worthing on Saturday. We're sharing the stall with our good friend and illustrator extraordinaire Anna, you can find her work here. We took a quick break today to post a load of hello DODO goodies off to people and to remind ourselves how awesome Brighton beach is in the Winter! :o)

Tales from Wales

Hey all, hope you're having a lovely weekend :o)
I'm back now after a few days in Wales visiting the fam. Was really lovely to see everyone (animals included!) and to get away from it all but also nice to come back to Btown (plus Jam was starting to go a bit doolally on his own..)
Here's a few snaps from my trip!

Light on Brighton

Merry Christmas! Well ok, not quite yet! We've just been to the big switch on of Brighton's Christmas lights though and we're feeling rather festive at hello DODO HQ. Not that anyone else in Brighton is! What a miserable bunch! I think I was the only person singing along to the Christmas carols with the Brighton Gay Man's Chorus. The best way to spread Christmas Cheer, is singing loud for all to hear!
Starry night
And who was there to flick the big switch? None other than...DRUMROLL...Mark Fowler from Eastenders!
Mark!
Who was actually fairly cheerful about the whole affair! Not that you could tell from my unfortunate photo... At the end I was about to gingerly ask for a photo with him (no, I'm not a fan, just for the lolz!) but he was sort of whisked away by the security just before I plucked up the courage...doh.

Anyone else feeling festive yet? :o)

Spotlight!

Hey all! Just a quick update as it's probably nearing bedtime...
We had a ridiculous productive day planned, filled with burning new designs to screens which was kind of ruined when the bulb in our exposure unit decided to blow. Apparently you can't buy 1000watt halogen bulbs in the whole of Brighton! BOOOOO. Thanks to Amazon a new bulb should be winging it's way to us soon! Gotta love the interweb.

In the meantime, I just wanted to put a little spotlight on our lovely typographic screenprint It Takes All Types. This print is currently being featured in the UKhandmade Christmas Showcase. I definitely recommend having a gander, let's all have a happy handmade Christmas this year :o)

Life's a Beach

Hello all, hope you're having a lovely Sunday! We're having a very sleepy night in after an eventful weekend in Dorset. The place we were staying was awesome, right on the seafront...best view EVER.
Highlights of the weekend...mistakenly thinking we'd found David Bowie's house on Sandbanks! (no, he doesn't live there at all...the house is just named after him BOOOO) and slightly inebriated fireworks in the garden and later on (after food and cocktails) on the beach as well.
Beach_view
Check out the view from the garden! If this is the owner's second home I'd sure love to see where their first one is...
Ali_plant
And me hanging out with a massive plant (check out the pot, gaffa tape solves everything!) in the massive conservatory of the massive house...(massive theme!)

Cushion
Lotsa weird and wonderful knick-knacks about the house. We had a slightly disturbing walk-in-wardrobe/kids cupboard complete with knitted doll's clothes and Famous Five books in our room.
Polar_bear
We even had a view of the Isle of Wight, spot the Polar Bear :o)

Jonny and Jam....of course it was only a matter of time before the ball went over the edge!
Firework
Plant pot fireworks, awesome! Hope you all had lots of bonfire night fun. Off to catch up with the X Factor now. We don't have a TV (through choice) so have to wait for everything to be uploaded before we can watch it. Looking forward to seeing Florence & The Machine's new song and hopefully celebrate Frankie's exit!
